XP Networking issues - RESOLVED

I have a machine that normally connects to some sort of broadband connection directly. I am not entirely sure how it did it because it doesnt have an Eternet port in the back of the machine so I assume it was USB or something.
I have a USB to Ethernet converter in there at the moment and I want it to pick up the internet from the LAN. It seems to default to the broadband connection that is still on the machine.

I don't want to delete the broadband connection as I don't know half settings and want to return it working. It is on the LAN (I can ping websites and connect to another machine on it). Internet explorer just will not load the correct web page. How can I force it to use the LAN connection for internet?

Thanks
Ric.

Thanks I have done all that.
Turns out it is Norton being "helpful".
At least I am not going mad, all the settings were correct :)
