Can you format these with XP?

Are there drivers suitable for XP for the buttons etc,?

As above, the XPS M1330 still has support from Dell for Windows XP. The XPS M1530 shares many components with the M1530 but it isn't all as straightforward. I've written a short guide about my own experience installing Windows XP Professional with SP2 on my M1530, with a link in my sig. Hope it helps

To be honest, I didn't really check all the M1330 files as I too followed a previously written guide for the M1530 myself, but then wrote my own as it wasn't entirely straightfoward and easy to follow. One component that definitely differs is the Intel wireless. The files from Dell usually start with an R and the have a 5 or 6 digit number following it, making it easy to confirm you have the exact file for your M1330 or M1530.

As long as both the 1330 and 1530 use a Intel WLAN adapater you can use the same Intel driver pack as it includes drivers for both models and more.

Same goes for the Intel chipset driver pack, it includes drivers for the 945 and 965 chipset. And the nVidia driver pack.

What you'll have to check is the drivers for the webcam, bluetooth adapter and card reader (if the 1330 has one). If they are from the same manufacturer then the same drivers should work on both models.
