i've just brought an ASUS K8N4-E DELUXE PCI-E mobo, got all the stuff out of the box, no SATA driver floppy. Great.

A scan of the manual indicates that there should be a section to create a drivers floppy from the CD. ok, except on my CD the is no way to create a floppy.

does anyone have any ideas? i never had this trouble with my old msi mobo, i dont wanna splash out more cash on yet another mobo

wouldn't have a clue of how to slip stream, etc, and asus technical support seems terrible :(

If thats what it gave you yes :) Stick it on a floppy and see if they work

Also not sure on your mb but my asus has 2 sata adapters and I got the wrong set of drivers first time. And had the drive plugged into the other adapter. Took me a while to figure out what i'd done wrong.

they will work fine,

as you boot up the xp cd press f6 to install a driver, it will read the floppy and then carry on.

It may even be a case that you dont need a driver at all.

On intel rigs i have never had to install the sata driver unless i was running it in raid mode.

Not sure with amd stuff though.

hope that helps

wierd...getting to windows load screen, pressing f6 but nothing is happening. in fact when it states that a drive cannot be found and you can press f3 i cannot do that either.

the keyboard is a normal purple connector version logitech, i forget the exact type, anyone have any ideas? i am thinking of getting a cheap usb keyboard and trying that in the various usb ports.

Does the keyboard have an F-Lock key? My Logitech does and it's annoying as I have to press the F-Lock key first to enable the "F" keys. Everytime I reboot the "F" Keys are disabled again until I press this key.

I had a feeling that would be it. :)

It had me miffed when I first installed XP with this keyboard. Just remember that after pressing F6 you still have to wait for all the other drivers to load before it brings up the selection screen. It doesn't come up instantly upon pressing the button.
