Just wondering if there are any who still use XP as I do?

I have been thinking though it might be time to switch over and though there's lots to read about this subject on the internet, I am interested to see what the readers here have to say?

If I make the move, it would be Win7 64bit as I wish to make use of the higher amount of ram I have and then there's the gaming etc.

I work from home, so I play games too and have been happy with XP, but was just looking at "if" it was the time to move over or just hold on to XP. I think I'll look in to having a dual boot to see what it's like with Win7 and go from there.

TY to everybody for your input

well my system is a few years old:

E7400 Duo
4gig ram
GTX260 core 213

Good enough for what I use it for, but giving it to my son in a years time to get a better one.

It runs ok in single core virtual machines with 512mb. In fact, the only reason I've chosen to keep XP on some old machines was not performance but lack of drivers for the onboard sound.

If you're going to get rid of it anyway you could just wait a year and get it preinstalled with a new machine/buy it with your self-build.

True.

Might just have the dual OS to see what the hype is about.

I remember those days when Win Me came out and everything went to hell, so I'm moving ever so slowly when a new OS comes out (too slowly I guess).

Oh god are you really comparing it with Windows Mistake Edition? :D
I remember them days too.

The good thing is today, the WinME is now Vista, and XP is Win7.
XP has lasted 10 years, I'm pretty sure 7 will too  You really need to get it installed and judge for yourself.

Win Me is the worst OS I could think of and that I was stuck with when I got my work pc from my job, so just thinking about those wonderful days with that hmmm interesting OS makes me ever so much careful now. I have had the other OS' as well other than Linux, so used to enjoy Win98, so XP has been the best for me, but we'll see after I install Win7.

TY
