XP Pro Activation

just about sick of XP Pro only had it installed a week and had to activate over the phone first time automated string of numbers then had to activate again on line when i added some update or other

i deleted Vista partition with Accronis this messed up the MBR so i used the installation CD to fix MBR ........ but now when i get to login screen i get a pop up screen saying "this copy of windows must be activated before log on" but when i select yes to activate i just get returned to login screen and the sequence starts again!!! :confused:

also cant log into safe mode Say's i cant activate from safe mode and restarts

Sounds like the XP install is knackered, maybe just do a repair install over the top? How come you're not using Windows 7 out of interest?

at the moment i given up on win XP will reinstall yet again at some point unless someone comes up with a way to get back in need for 32bit programs my win 7 64bit, and got system in bits now just about to raid win 7, raid 10 over four drives no doubt ill be starting a new thread for that too

PS will win 7 64bit run 32bit programs in XP mode?

Windows 7 will run 32 bit programs.

XP Mode allows you to run 16 bit programs

so if win 7 64bit for example will run say PSP9 i wont need XP Pro :cool:

Paint Shop Pro 7,8 & 9 all work fine in Vista / Win7 64bit.
