Hi all,

so I've got a new MOBO and CPU, I've attached my old hard drives, but I'm sure I installed the SATA drivers from my old MOBO disc into the system, so my new system will only start in Safe Mode (obviously no use).

Any ideas how I can work around this, or do I need to buy yet another Windows XP license and do a fresh windows system install (I've already got 3 Windows XP Pro licenses now, 2 of which are not in use any more).

Many thanks,

Shayne.

If you change the mobo then its recommended you do a fresh install. You will probably need another licence if you have an OEM version of XP. You could always try and phone Microsoft and tell them the old one died and can they unlock it.

And just think, if you'd bought a retail copy of Windows in the first place.
Would have been less than 3 OEM licenses that you've now bought and would be legally transferrable any number of times.
