Im mainly using it for gaming and would like 100% peformance and reliablility, now ive seen both OS's but dont know which is better for games performance wise, i like both of them but the performance question is really bugging me

Unless you are running old hardware then I would always go Vista.

Vista Home Premium is the better version to get. If you want Remote Desktop then go for Vista Business.

I just picked up a sealed retail (yes, I know OEM is cheaper) copy of Business N for £100.

There are sometimes deals on it because it's not as popular, but it's just the business edition without Media player (which you can download if you really want it). There are some differences to Home Premium though, so it may not be quite what you want.

From what I've read there's not much diff in gaming performance. I've finally decided to move over to Vista x64 after being more then happy with XP Pro. Apart from the fact that I couldn't get my aged Soundblaster Live! value card going, a driver I tried actually caused it to blue screen the PC now seems to running fine, feels slicker, I say feels but I have noticed that there are some pauses where it just seems to stall for a few seconds and UAC, good God not debating that the features not useful but I wonder if anybody in MS actually used a PC as a standard user and UAC enabled? Going to leave it on for the time being but the dimming of the screen and the pause before the dialog appearing is a right royal pain.
