XP Pro Problem

Hi All last night i switched on my pc and opened a broswer. as soon as i typed the letter r into google regedit came up, i thought hmm, so i closed it down but it came back again as soon as i re-typed r. So i restarted the machine and disconected from the net and just on the desktop i pressed r and regedit came up, if i press e my docs comes up and if if press v that speech vision thing comes up.

Any ideas whats up?

is your Windows Key jammed in? perhaps you've used a tool to assign winkey + r to open regedit?

Hi thanks for the reply, the key is'nt jammed in, other key open other things, it's just so strange. I have'nt installed anything that could be doing it. It could be a virus, i'll just have to reinstall.

Hi, I'm glad you asked this because I had this on one of my workshop PCs this weekend..Exactly as you describe.. Hit the U key and a menu pops up too?

The problem seems to have gone although I have no idea why. I've had this before too so I would like to know the answer to this for future reference. I swapped the keyboard out and that made no difference. I've read through MS and found nothing too obvious.
