My other half's pc has developed a rather annoying interment issue.

When you chose shutdown, it restarts instead of shutting down, and you sometimes get a BSOD for a second before it restarts. I've disconected components (memory, graphics card, etc) to see if it makes any difference but it still occurs.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be casuing this.

Running XP Pro, with SP3.

So into the system properties and click on the advanced tab and then startup and recovery settings.

Untick the checkbox which says automatically restart.

Then tell us what the BOSD says.

Thanks for the advice Burnsy2023

BSOD has the following error message

stop error : 0x0000007E (0x0000005, 0x00000000, 0xBACE3C8C, 0xBACE3988)

quick solution....just reinstall windows :p

if that doesnt solve it then there is possibly a hardware fault somewhere
