Recently reinstalled XP as I was having some issues with Vista (due to soundcard which I want to use).

I don't like the default XP themes and so run it on 'Classic View', but it's a bit plain and I'd like to skin it.

The problem then comes that the only application I know to do this is WindowBlinds, which is a nice enough application, but it does have memory usage issues and often used to break when I had it on a previous install.

Are there any other ways in which I can change the skin that'll not break or eat memory?

Can't test them right now as I have to go out, but I can't seem to find any themes on DeviantArt to work with Uxtheme.

As for xpize, again, I can't find themes for it. The one on their site is ok, but I really dislike the blue look.

Hmmm...far to fussy I think. :p

the uxtheme.dll crack enables you to run any of the msthemes on deviantart.. there's hundreds on there.

Search for area04, or pristineOS

Not easy to find the skins on deviant art really, but I got there in the end. Some nice ones, trying to find one that is 'me' now though. :)

Oh and now I have the problem of wanting to change the icons...any good places I can find them, and how do I go about applying them?

Been rather a long time since I skinned etc.

Well I'm running this theme at the moment, really liking it. Nice and clean and simple, perfect. Just thinking about updating the icons that XP has, but don't know where to start with that. :)

I had a look on deviant art and was a bit unsure which ones to use

Some seemed like stand onlone skins with exe. files and some were not downloadable

Can someone plese link me to the uxtheme useable skins, i couldnt find them
