Hello holbay, as far as I'm aware, Windows XP doesn't have any problems with SLI, or certainly the actual operating system shouldn't have any problems running a SLI based system.

Out of interest though, what are the sort of problems you are experiencing with Windows Vista? :)

Hi fire wizard I built a new system using msi pn7 diamond core 2 intel 4gb dominator ram 2 nvidea 9600gt and sata hd 500gb, first m/b would not allow windows install graphics kept scrambling at first windows screen sent it back got replacement and all went well, now whether comp is running guild wars or just sitting at desktop screen graphics gets scrambled at random times, comp does not overheat. When this happens the reset button does not do anything i have to press and hold power button till it shuts down i wondered about ram voltage dominator ram box states 2.10 volts but memory volts seem to be set at 1.9 could lower volts cause failure, i am now at wits end and stabbing in the dark thinking vista is the problem. almost forgot have tried replacing video card with totally different one this didnt work pulled all ram and tried 1 strip at a time same effect. Thanks for your help Holbay

Hi i did try both cards seperately and even tried a different one altogether and they did not change anything at all. Thanks Holbay

Just wondering is your PSU having problems supplying enough power to the board / cards.

Rob

Hi guys the psu is a cooler master real power m 620 watt bought at the same time as all the other components.. But i would have thought if psu was not adaquate surely sometimes it would not run for 4 hours then fail and other time it only runs for 10 mins,( it is very frustrating) i did ask about mem voltage has any one any thought on that dominator ram box states 2.10 volts but m/board set to 1.9 could mem fail with lower voltage. And i believe windows creates some kind of error report if so where is it located on h/d and i may be able to put report on forum for the experts to analyse.. Thankyou for your help guys. Holbay..

Power supplys can cause strange things, I would recommend running your memory at recommended voltage and timmings.

It might be worth running Prime 95 & 3D win mark 2006 with one card installed to ensure system stability and check single card performance.

Hi RJC just a note on your response i had tried the cards one at a time and comp still failed the same way, i also tried fitting a geforce 7200 gs 128 mb, not exactly fast or blistering but cheapest card on the market and still same problem the 4 1gb mem strips were also tried 1 at a time and the same thing happened, sorry to be a pest but i cant think of anywhere else to turn to, Thankyou. Holbay.

Strange one, If it's happening with a completely different card, then only thing I can think off is a faulty motherboard, even though you have already had this changed.
Are your pci express ports running at 16x, CPU-Z can tell you this from the Motherboard Tab

Is it possible to take a picture and post the graphical fault!

I'm affraid I can't be off any use use :)

Rob :)

Ok guys i just went and got all the empty boxes for my comp components and power specs for N9600Gt video cards says need minimum 400Watts and minimum 25Amps on 12volt rail. Power supply is 620Watts, 700Watts peak 12 volt rail 19Amps max, bear in mind there are 2 video cards then psu might not be good enough.. So with 2 video cards, 1 dvd drive, 1 sata h/d, 1 dominator memory fan, 1 cpu zalman cnps 9700 fan, 2 fans in shark case, and audio card what size of psu should i be using.. Thanks again. Holbay.

Hello guys has anyone got any answers to the above question.. Also i was told once that there was an online power supply configarator where you enter all the components you have and it worked out the size of psu you need, does anyone know where it is on the net.. Thankyou Holbay
