XP SP3 gives speed boost

The vista scores would be closer to XP's if they'd used 2gb of ram i reckon, but still

the only way i see vista as faster than xp is by using speedboost, all that does is open programs quickly

all real-life situations i've seen, like mp3 or xvid encoding have been faster in xp


this wasn't meant to be a vista bashing thread, i think it's a great os, was just posting to show the early reports that sp3 may breathe a life of fresh air into xp, which is never a bad thing

How is Photoshop opening in 3 seconds not a good thing.

yeah, opens quickly, then to perform worse than xp when actually using the program

would be interesting to see a comparison on a high end machine between the two, in many benchmarking tests
