Hi, I have a laptop with an internal wireless card, it used to pick up all the wireless networks in the area fine, but now I have installed service pack 3 for XP it now cannot see any. I have tried windows update and it claims everything is up to date, any ideas?

Get a new driver for it. Don't install their software for it, just use the in built Windows tool to find networks

Problem is the wireless card is in the laptop, so I cant tell what make or model it is, and everything seems to say "generic wireless card". Is there any program that will give me the make and model of the wireless card so I can find the latest drivers for it?

I am useing the built in Windows tool to find networks.

Right, I used everest to find out what the name of the wireless card was and its a rt2500 miniPCI card, made by these dudes - http://www.ralinktech.com/

I looked for the latest software from them but it turned out to not be drivers, just a wireless network program, and because with SP3 the wireless card is not finding any, there are no networks to join.

Anyone any ideas? Shall I just purchase an external wireless USB network card?
