XP SP3 now on MSDN

http://www.ubern00b.net/WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe

Itll be up for a few hours so grab it now. Please dont plaster it all over other forums or Digg it or something silly :P

edit: use a download manager, multithreaded downloads will work far better for full speed.

I downloaded this from your link last night so Thanks from me :)

Installed SP3 on my 939 AGP system. Instal went Perfect & my overclocks are still just as stable, pretty much a stealth patch rather than a noticeable operating system overall like SP2. My colours seem more vivid though which although at first i thought i imagined i am now convinced of. Start up time seems longer but in use seems a tad faster. No effect to my clocks on my GFX card either.
I'm Happy

Damn. They didn't include IE7, WMP11, WGA.

that's because all those babies keep crying that ms are trying to monopolise other vendors because they include an internet explorer and a media player in their os :o

a noob would be lost with any type of internet browser or media player, fact!

wish they'd make a second pack, like a 100mb all-in-one update pack that's slipstreamable too

Just for a heads up, in SP3 MS have removed the option to have the address bar in the taskbar!

Okay, think I've found the solution to the install problems that Dougsnake and I encountered. When I ran the install last night, I had my removable hard drive still attached to the laptop I was installing on, as I had taken a Ghost image just pryor to the install. The SP3 installer proceeded to extract itself to the USB drive, and promptly failed.

I've just tried the install again tonight, with no external drives attached, and it's completed successfully.

Hmm interesting that its now worked for you........ive tried all sorts of stuff safe mode, all non windows services like anti virus turned off, even read that stylexp might be causing it because of modded boot.ini nope all the same results i even tried to install it on my media centre pc (sony viao with xp mce 2005) and that did exactly the same  and has no where near as much programs on it.
That kinda annulled what i was thinking why it didnt install on this machine as i suspected it was because of dual booting with vista but nope :( everything ive tried resulted in exactly the same access denied bull just have to live with the fact it makes me look like ive got pirate windows :p
Ah well congrats on getting yours fixed hopefully things will go smoother for me when it arrives on windows update :o

just slipstream sp3 to XPsp2 with nlite, installed, up and running but no IE7 and WMP11 on updates? am using work VLK key.

thanks

I had a problem with it wanting to extract to an external HDD rather than my XP install. All i did was open the .exe in WinRAR and manually extract and run it from C:

that's not a problem, that's the normal behaviour, it tries to extract to the drive with the most space availiable, then installs from there

it'd install faster from another drive (unless it's usb2, which would probably hamper the install time)

It was definitely faster installing from the laptop's local drive than letting it extract and install from the USB2 drive.

I would be interested to see if someone could do a test install and make sure there was an external drive attached, just to see if it fails in the same way as I got.

Installed on a couple of machines, install went fine but on my laptop it now seems a bit sluggish but there again it could just be me :)

i did say, "unless it's usb2" :)

Is that link on MSDN compatible with XP x64?
It only says X86 in the file name, and I can't find an x64 update. Anyone know?
