Hey guys

Now that I have upgraded my machine, I figured I could make my desktop a bit prettier.

I faffed about with Windows Blinds and ThemeXP, but they seemed like too much hassle and needed purchases and whatnot.

So I figured I'd stick with standard free XP themes.

I've downloaded a few, but when I enable them, my colour scheme, buttons, edgings, all the graphics that should change stay on the windows classic one (as if I had selected best performance in the system area).

I have since checked and ensured that I have all the needed stuff checked for best appearance, but still none of the themes affect buttons and the like.

HELP! :(

Download and install this then re-try themes

yup

need to patch your uxtheme.dll file, look on softpedia for the uxtheme patcher (the neowin one seems fine)

patch your file, then you can put any msstyle into %windir%\Resources\Themes folder and they'll be shown as options for styles in Apperance tab

get styles from deviantart.com do not get them from themexp
