I have heard they are dangerous and can corrupt some hard drives. Are there any safe themes or skins you can apply?

Thanks

Chunk

I use http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhancements/Themes/UXTheme-Patch-For-Windows-XP-SP2-Final.shtml. A little program and once I've run that all I have to do is double click on a theme file in Windows and it gets loaded for me.

nLite also has the option in it to run the UXTheme patcher for you so its possible to nLite a copy of Windows and have it able to run themes for you, out of the box.

I also use http://www.web9design.com/Portfolio/xpm-classic as my theme and then install http://vertigosity.benpbrown.com/index.php?page=download as an icon pack. Makes Windows look very nice.
