Is it possible to unbind keys in XP?

The reason I'm asking is that quite often I hit capslock by accident when I'm typing or gaming and aiming for another button, and I realised I've not actually used capslock in years, shift does me fine.

so anyone know if it's possible/how? and I'd rather not use some 3rd party software to do it.

thanks, i didn't really know what to google for, tried unbind capslock windows and a few others. thought someone on here might know how.

in that program, Caps is unassignable, but you can just make all the other keys unaffected by capslock which will do me fine I guess, it'll just take a bit longer.

Thanks

Reg hack time ;)

Start Run Regedit:-

Location:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]

Create a new binary value called scancode map

Right click it, modify, and enter the following

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 2A 00 3A 00 00 00 00 00

Reboot to take effect.
