XP Urgent help please

Got a HDD that someone has got part way through installing XP on then stopped? Anyway,everytime i try to install xp on the drive it goes to the same install and asks for the disc.My disc doesnt seem to be the same issue and fails to load.How can i remove the previous attempt?

make sure cd is set as the primary boot option, then 'press any key' when it asks

I do that but it goes to the page that says "windows setup was interupted resuming setup...."

Get the original disc that was used or format the HDD before you start.

I dont know what verssion of the original was used thats 1 of the problems.I cant format it as my machine only has 1 sata power cable.

Use a floppy disk to format the HDD. Ask the person who gave you the HDD to also give you the Windows CD.
