Hey all, justa quick query, I have my main HDD partitioned into 3 partitions, XP on partition 1, Vista on partition 2, and 3 for storage.

The XP install is quite old and getting a bit clunky with long boot times, I actually only recently found out about the KB download from Microsoft to fix Hibernating on XP with 2gb or more RAM, which is why I never used ot Hibernate.

My main question is, if I hibernate XP now, would it auto boot back into XP seeing as it is a Hibernated O/S, or would I still be able to select Vista from the boot menu as normal, and when I choose XP it'll restore the Hibernated state?

Hope that makes sense, and thanks! :D

Hibernating saves the RAM to hard drive and goes through the normal boot process when starting up. So I don't see why you wouldn't get the usual boot menu with the choice of booting Vista.

Aha, answered my question now :)

XP finaly hibernated fine, which is lovely, but upon rebooting, no boot menu, straight into the hibernated XP.
