I have a legal working copy of windows xp home edition, and I have just installed a new motherboard and gone to activate it but.. I have just got a message saying - our records have idicated that the number of times you can activate windows with this product key has exceeded.. please enter a new cd key.

Wtf?? I cant believe this? what can I do?

This is ridiculous, can I only install it so many times? I got this xp ed of my brother who has another licence.

OEM?- Only supposed to go with a single motherboard.
Just ring up MS with the code & tell them that the motherboard has been replaced due to failure ;)
(This may take a couple of tries, there are some operators who won't do this, but most do- At least the number is free :D )
