I heard Microsoft are going to stop supporting XP, I hope they don't force Vista on people, i hate Vista.

I believe Microsoft will be supporting and selling XP until June 2010. But I think the "support" data, will be a little longer.

Vista is a fantastic operating system. When you used it, did you have SP1 installed? SP1 has fixed most, if not all issues from the 'early days'.

beg to differ, have you tried to copy and paste from one drive to another, you need permission, and downloading goes into c users, xp didnt do that.
i have vista with sp1.

Vista is just a dressed up version of XP anyway. Don't see the problem.

it might not be a pain to most but I could not install a program, I had a corrupt file, so I copied it from my Laptop with Vista, I cant repair my PC
as i cant copy and paste, even the permissions were greyed out, so yes i struggle..

I think he means files.

If he installs TweakUAC and stops Security Centre moaning that it has been "switched off" you will have no such problems.

its a config.sys file from my system 32folder.
