Hi, is it possible to upgrade from windows xp 32 bit to windows 7 64 bit?

Yes, PLEASE NOTE: This is the upgrade version and requires a prior purchase of Windows Vista or XP. Both 32-bit and 64-bit discs are included.

i have an upgrade version here, i was running xp 32 bit and tried to install 64 bit but it said that it wsnt compatable. does anyone know a way round this?

Backup your data, boot from the 64 bit Win 7 DVD, format the old XP drive, install.

it wont boot from the disc tho

You can't upgrade from XP to Windows 7 nor x86 to x64. It sounds to me like you're trying to launch setup from within Windows. You need to insert the disc, reboot and boot from the DVD.
