Hi guys, would any of you know where to buy an XQD card, I need one to fit into a card adapted, the card has to be the same size as an SDXC card :)

I've never used an XQD card before so I don't know what one to buy, can you link me to one please.

It's for a Sony video camera.

They are the same size yeah but have a slightly different shape, SDXC cards have the corner missing, usually in the top right.

What Sony camera is it going in to?

Hi Thanks, Its for a Sony Z280 and a Sony XQD EXPRESS CARD ADAPTER, that's why it needs to fit into that adaptor.

Thank you, I use the SxS cards all the time in my Sony 320 video camera but a photographer friend of my uses XQD cards in his DSLR camera, he told me his XQD cards are a different size to the SDXC card, so his must be different again. Would that be right?

Thank you for the link for the XQD EXPRESS CARD ADAPTER, I contacted Visual Impact about them but are out of stock at the mo but will be back in soon, so will order then. Thanks.

What's the reason that XQD must be the same size as SDXC cards? Looking around, it seems that the SDXC cards are actually smaller and thinner than XQD cards, it's just that picture up above is wrong.

Here's the size difference between the two.

Well it was more about finding the correct size XQD cars to fit into the Adapter you linked me to. But if I took you up right, any XQD card will fit that adapter so I can't go wrong.

Its more like an SDXC would be too small for the XQD EXPRESS CARD ADAPTER.

XQD cards are much much larger then other cards especially the thickness of them.
I had to buy a new adapter to download pics via usb.

Captain's last post shows some of the difference.
Only certain cameras will take them as a result as well.
My d850 has a large slot to accept one.


Also they are bloody expensive! But required especially with high megapixel fast shooting.

Thanks for that, yes, I see now they are a different size. Not seeing the XQD EXPRESS CARD ADAPTER in reality, I wrongly assumed that they took an XQD card that was the same size as an SDXC Card. Now I know that is not the case.
