what is there to look for in terms of rust? engine wouldn't be an issue as that would be ripped out.... looking into one thats all. after something cheap to buy and mod would take as much time as i wanted.

also been told there are could be various mot regulations now meaning i couldnt legally convert a car to rear drive or summat?

Do 20 year old Fiestas exist? Seriously you are thinking of buying an xr2i to rip the engine out and convert to rwd? The mind boggles.

forget buying a mk3 fiesta for a conversion

it WILL be rotten, unless your spending silly money on a concours example

buy something that has rwd as standard e36 or one of the turbo jap nutters :)

google driftworks forum and find the for sale section

You could convert it to RWD, but since that will involve major modifications to the monocoque, you would have to put it through an IVA test to get it on the road.

Still, that is not 22500 euros worth of car.

You don't know *anything* about clubman rallying so I would advise peoiple to ignore your opinions.
That monstrosity you linked to is a rallycross car for a start. It's spaceframed, it isn't even a Fiesta.

It's also 4 grand WITHOUT the engine.....

I can see about £15k just from the photos/description - nearly £5k just for the gearbox. Add what you can't see and I bet there is £30k£40k of bits there.

People don't need to listen to me, they can link on your link and see it for themselves - It is an old Fiesta that doesn't look like it has half of the asking price tied up in it. It seems incredibility expensive for what it looks like. I think even you'd agree with that?

I have a i7 2600k rig with 24Gb of ram, crossfire'd 6970s and 8 200Gb SSDs. I guess because it's in a ugly beige full tower case from 1998 it's only worth £100?

It's a rallycross car with paperwork.
