Ok so the title is a bit clickbaity but accurate :D

This week both the D5 pumps in my long standing build failed, but whats the kicker?

Both pumps have been running nearly 24/7 since 2014! So 9 years of run time.

Add on top of that, less than stellar loop maintainance various short term fluids (mayhems aurora etc) and you have a pump that has had a hard life. Just goes to show how reliable they can be!

I've seen a few posts about this sort of thing recently and it makes me wonder if I should pre-emptively replace my D5 that I've had since 2012. It hasn't run 24/7, but it does feel more and more like a risk!

Certainly got your moneys worth
Out of them
Still peculiar both would fail at same time

Just learned I neglected my loop maintenance too
just had a few days
Of flow issues with a new gpu
Which I finally resolved last night
Which turned out to be either totally coincidentall
It happened when swapping gpus
Or the added active backplate compounded the issue
Mine was just red coolant no pastel
No aurora or fancy fluids
Yet the red still eventually clogged the microfins
And jet plate in the cpu block

But of course because it happened
When I changed gpu
The cpu block was the last thing I looked at typically

@SirConfused
Wouldn't be a bad idea
Could keep the current one as a spare
Or incorporate 2 into the loop
For redundancy if there's enough space for 2 pumps
