Hello all,

Just wanted to ask if this PC build would be capable to play games such as BF3 and some steam games at medium settings. Is it possible to overclock the CPU to a higher frequency to about 3.00-3.40GHz with the CPU cooler.
Any part changing/improvments would be great.
My main goal is getting it below £300. I already have a keyboard, mouse, TV and PS3 controller.

This is my parts list:

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI HD 7750 2048MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card £71.99
1 x Intel Pentium G640 2.80GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £49.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKX) £46.99
1 x Gigabyte H61N-D2V Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £44.99
1 x Xigmatek Helios XTK231 Mini Tower Case - Black £24.98
1 x Swift 550W V2 Silent Power Supply £23.99
1 x Crucial 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10600C9 1333MHz 240-Pin (CT51264BA1339) £19.99
1 x Akasa AK-CC4009EP01 Venom Pico Compact CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £16.99
Total : £312.52 (includes shipping : £10.50).

The 7750 and the 7770 I just don't think are worth the cash bud. The 1GB 460 and 6850 are better performers and you can find them 2nd hand for ~£50

460 vs 7770 460 wins, that's at stock clocks, mine is OC'd to 850-900Mhz which is nigh on 6870 performance. If you can get that for £50 2nd hand you are laughing. The FM2 setup I spec'd will game and you can add the GPU later as I said. Either save for something decent or keep an eye out for a 2nd hand bargain ;)

You wil still need to buy a external GPU.

If you do want to look at the 2nd hand market then look at the 460 or 6850 GPU'S as Hono mentioned, otherwise look at the higher end Trinity APU or the Intel with the 7770 / 7750 GPU.
