Hi i did a install a few days back, i used a extreme light version of xp pro it was only 115 mb and it was a lot faster than the full version i own, the only problem i had was when i tried to install my voyager 1055 usb adsl adapter, initially it did install but i could not enter the mac code as usuall, obviously some files were missing but i dont know which and when trying to go to add remove/add windows components it stated than another instance of this programme has allready started therefore i must wait for it to finish but it never finishes, also when tryin to install optional windows components off the cd i got the same scenario, does anyone know what files would be needed so i can get them on a slave drive and when i reinstall the light xp everything goes well?

Hi, I did an [XP] install a few days back. I used an extreme light version of XP Pro, it was only 115MB and it was a lot faster than the full version I own.

The only problem I had was when I tried to install my Voyager 1055 USB ADSL adapter, initially it did install but I could not enter the MAC code as usual. Obviously, some files were missing but I don't know which; and when trying to go to add remove/add windows components it stated 'another instance of this programme has already started therefore i must wait for it to finish' - but it never finishes.

Also when trying to install optional windows components off the CD, I've got the same scenario.

Does anyone know what files would be needed so I can get them on a slave drive so that when I reinstall the light XP everything goes well?

That's a bit easier on the eyes.

Not sure what you're in need of, but to be honest with you - what did you expect from a 115MB version?

There isn't any official "115 MB super lite" version of Windows XP. If you've installed yourself using something like N-lite, then go back and create a larger version, Windows isn't supposed to be installed with so much missing and things will inevitably go wrong.

If you've got the software from somewhere else, though, it's without doubt pirated and modified in however many ways, you shouldn't be posting about it on the forums and you shouldn't expect to get it working properly.
