Any idea what the difference is?

Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Soundcard - Retail
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - OEM

The OEM/Retail part i know, but whats the hardware or performance difference between those two?

As far as i know the only difference is that the xtreme gamer (as long as its not the Fatal1ty version) offers no hardware DTS or Dolby digital decoding.

The xtreme gamer one is acctualy suposed to "increase" FPS for what reason i cant remember?

Didnt know that the music had decoding but the gamer didnt :confused:

I think it's just down to the connectors, think the gamer has optical built in, is low profile and uses standard front panel connectors.

The gamer advertises the decoding....not sure if its hardware though
The increased framerate will be a marketing thing as the onboard sound it compares with uses CPU power to run the sound, X-Fi doesnt

Im happy with it, need to sort the DS3 compatibity issue though
