I bought an XV253QP back in February and generally it's been great, but sometimes it won't wake up.

It always wakes from standby when the system is off and you power up, it's only done it when the system is on and the monitor is sleeping. When it does it, it's completely unresponsive, you can't even wake it with it's buttons, when it does it you can wake it by:

Turning it off from the mains and then back on.
Reset the pc
Unplugging the display port cable and plugging it back in.

It will instantly spring back to life.

Despite being 1080/144, the monitor is display port 1.4 (I think for the bad hdr400 nonsense). I have a Palit 1070ti jetstream which came with 1.4 ports, I've tried the Nvidia firmware update, but it said nothing needs updating. Also updated drivers.

Never had the issue with my old monitor, which was dvi-d.

Cable is a vesa certified cable, although it was sold as 1.2. I thought it should be ok as the cable are all the same and it's just bandwidth requirements and 1080/144 should be ok.

It doesn't happen often, so it's hard to try fixes. Most of the time the pc is on and the screen is set to sleep after only 5min, so it gets woken a lot and has only done it 4 times it the 7 months I've had it. Can a cable cause it to rarely fail to wake, but otherwise work fine, should I try a new cable?, club3d certified "1.4" cable is only £12. First display port monitor, dvi-d was never fussy.

Thanks.
