XviD to DivX

My standalone DVD player jumps very slightly sometimes while playing XviD, not a lot, but just enough for you to notice.
Are there any programs about that can quickly convert XviD to DivX keeping the same quality (or enough of the same quality that you woudnt notice the difference in a normal TV?

Think winavi can do this, its a pretty handy app for video conversion.

it might just be a packed bitstream

download "mpeg modifier" you can unpack it (using 1 tick box) and resave the avi

takes about 2 mins per avi

could also be a dodgy 24 -> 25 fps conversion (ie inserting a double frame every second often leading to a jump)

Use gspot to identify exactly what your avi file is.
