Xvids out of sync

didn't know where to put this so

i downloaded some clips/vids off tinternet and the sound is out of sync to the picture, is there any way to resolve this ?

probably a stupid question but ya never know these days

It's been encoded on a slow machine most likely bud, not a lot you can do really.

It's very easy to correct, just use a program like virtual dub and set an audio delay.

try a different media player, like vlc, or media player classic. I do that and it seems to work for me.

Are all the vids out of sync? If they are torrent files can you download alternatives?

If out of Sync only after halfway etc, you need totally recode the Audio in Virtual Dub, you do not set any Delay just recode the audio to whatever it tells you ( A WARNING [pops up on screen as you load in any AVI with funny Audio bitrates, 9x out of 10 128k is ideal.

Sometimes I extract the audio to uncompressed, then recode again to 128k and it fixes it.
