It's essentially a reboxing of the original game to go with the movies. New models to match the paint schemes for the film etc.

I think it includes the game mechanics added since the game release but I didn't know there was new stuff?

i believe the xwings and ties have had a slight buff and a extra manoeuvre added.

More importantly it's a new damage deck that supersedes the old deck for tournament play. The manuver tools have the new ones for the t70 ETC also both are being released as standalone in Dec.

Yep that's right!
Just received 2 Force Awakens boxes. Already preordered loads of T70s and Ties. As well as Wave 8 stuff....

Not to actually get round to playing a game

Our little group has a mini camapign going for X-Wing and turned it into more RPG where everyones a squad, earn XP and get some neat little skills.

Our family business hasnt seen a huge uptake on the new boxed game yet so hopefully it will pick up for Christmas!

Not a massive fan of star wars myself (more of a trekkie) but I've heard nothing but good things about this game and the ships look really cool so I picked up a copy of the new starter set today. After having read the rules I don't think I'll be disappointed! Seems similar to aeronautica imperialis and wings of war. Got a test game set up for Friday

You won't be disappointed Vincent, it's a great game. There is a star trek version called attack wing by wizzkids which is similar to x-wing but I'm not sure how big that is.

I've seen it but the figures for it are not really up to scratch and the painting on them isn't great either, there's some nice examples of what you can do with a repaint in my local store but I've got more than enough to be getting on with at the minute!

Yeah the quality of the painting is nowhere near as good as the x-wing stuff.

Attack Wing is also very popular and have two huge expansions out. Deep Space 9 and a huge Borg Cube which is the equiv to X-Wings Huge Ships

Wave 8 is due November accounding to suppliers and another Huge Ship is due the same time! Also Star Wars Armada is nice too.
