XYZ to MP4 Software...

Hey,

I'm trying to convert a ton of files from films to my sons favourite game trailers (SWTOR anyone?) into MP4 files so that I can put them into iTunes to enable us to play them through the appleTV.

What's the best software to use to do this? I downloaded some free stuff, but as expected it loaded a whole load of crap onto my system and I got worried about some of it so I deleted it.

Another question.... is MP4 the best format to convert to?

Handbrake is the best software I've come across to convert to mp4/m4v for iDevices.

The most user friendly one I have found is FreeMake. Converts most file types, and even rips DVDs, and has profiles for most devices including Apple ones.

I found Handbrake quite complicated when I tried it.
