Currently using 10 Scythe GT's AP-15 on a Lamptron FC2, 8 on 2x 120.2 rads in push/pull and 2 as case fans (2 per channel using y splitters) and i am looking to upgrade my case and add in a 120.4 rad, i will be adding a 140mm front intake fan and one of the GT's will be a rear exhaust and in total i will be running 16 GT's on the rads in push/pull, i will need to be running these 16 fans in banks of 4 per channel and was wondering if i used 3 y plitters for each bank all the power for 4 fans will go running down a single y splitter to the controller, now i know the controller can handle this as it is rated for 45w per channel but can thoes y splitter cables handle the startup current of 4 of thoes fans ?

I have actually found that Phobya make some pre-braided 1x 3 pin to 4x 3 pin fan splitters so i guess they would work fine.

You'd be driving just over an amp for a fraction of a second so I wouldn't be too concerned about it. That is unless the fan splitter uses some stupidly thin cable. If Phobya have designed it properly it'd have 20AWG or more but of course it's impossible to find this sort of information out unless you buy one.

Yea thay actually make a 9 way slitter too so i guess the wire gauge is plenty, just didn't want to go ahead and end up with melted cables :)
