Recommend me a TFT for my FPS games where I will not notice any shadowing or latency, please!

I am loathed to give up my flat CRT but it is just too bulky for the corner of the living room.
I appear to be quite sensitive in terms of monitor output. I can see the slightest flicker, anything less than 85Hz annoys me (on a CRT) and lag in general drives me insane.

Yes, I'm fussy!

Thanks.

These are supposed to be quite good.

Personally I have a Samsung SM226BW, and having gone from a lesser LCD panel (17"), I think it's fantastic for gaming.

22-24" max. No budget as such but I don't have unlimited funds either.
It basically has to be best in its class, as I won't expect to replace it for at least 3 years. Looking at that Iiyama one now, thanks for the headsup.

Just bought this:

Samsung SM-2253BW Aqua 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black

Excellent spec and price, hopefully won't be disappointed!

Pretty much ALL TFTs you will notice some blurring of the image if your anything higher than a casual gamer. Dells are pretty bad for gaming due to the inherent input latency.

The original E2201W was an exception to the rule having almost no blurring/ghosting at all and 0 input latency - however the B model is just the same as any other.

The SM226BW should be reasonable for gaming as it has very low input latency and only marginally worse for ghosting than the original Iiyama E2201W. The SM-2253BW has much higher input latency than the 226 but is otherwise fairly similiar.

If I finally decide I want a 24" I'll be going for the Hyundai W240D-PVA.
Good colour (PVA panel), good response times, and stupidly low input lag (average of 1-2ms!), as well a very reasonable lack of ghosting.

Only £311 :)

Hopefully I will be able to decide if I want it before the 666 deal runs out...

Which did you choose instead?

Now I'm not so sure... :/

well after that I tried a Hazro 24" S-IPS screen, had fantastic colours and no ghosting but the only problem with it was bad backlight bleed and the blacks weren't too good. At the moment I am using a HP LP2475w which is a fantastic screen (H-IPS) but it depends whether you can get on with wide gamut, in the beginning i wasn't too sure but this screen really is growing on me.

Got the monitor. If I said it was flawless in CSS, I'd be lying but on the whole it is very good, much better than the Dell 22" I just had on here.
Is it flat CRT style quality? No but for 120 quid, you really shouldn't expect it.

I'm happy :)

btw, has anyone used that LCD test thing?
Every monitor I've run it on so far, the boxes look identical @ 16ms, even this one. Am I doing something wrong?

The good news is that at least on css having massive fps helps reduce the horrible lcd "tearing", which imo is a much bigger issue with them than ghosting or input lag.

The lcd test thing will be a right load of crap :p
