y0, gamers?

What do you mean? The human eye can only see something around 40fps anyway, so anything more than that is "waste" in terms of processing power. Vsync is there for a reason, to stop asyncrous tearing. It's not a "waste" for turning down the number of frames rendered you can't see.

That is not entirely true - it's a long and complex discussion that has been covered here in depth before - If you have tearing, enable v-synch.

Indeed, I'm sure I was dramatically oversimplifying. I can't pretend to be an expert on this, so I will defer to the more informed opinion. But I certainly agree, if it tears, put on V-sync; it will do far more for your quality of life than the difference between 90 and 120 FPS will.

on average, most screens will only output on 60Hz anyway so its impossible to achive above 60fps.

...if you have vsync enabled. Also, with it enabled, if you drop below 60FPS, you won't necessarily go to 59, 58, 57, often with vsync, it simply HALVES the FPS.

Tbh it does sound like sock knows what hes talking about.

Having huge fps, especially in the hundreds makes a dramatic difference to tearing and how smooth the whole thing feels, which is easily possible on older games such as cs:s.

Putting vsync on does make it sync and feel smoother (but not to the same degree as in the hundreds of fps) but it also kills mouse movement and makes it feel really odd and considerably less responsive which is not ideal for an fps gamer.

If you really suck then this doesn't matter though :p hence lcd's popularity.

Pretty much ALL TFTs you will notice some blurring of the image if your anything higher than a casual gamer. Dells are pretty bad for gaming due to the inherent input latency.

The original E2201W was an exception to the rule having almost no blurring/ghosting at all and 0 input latency - however the B model is just the same as any other.

I was under the impression the B1 has zero lag, but the B2 is a bit of an unknown.
