Yamaha AV receiver 481 vs 681?

I know the 681 has loads more spec but would it actually sound better?

I only have a 5.0 setup so the 481 would be fine for me but if the 681 sounds better such as more depth in sound at lower volumes etc I will stump up the extra cash.
 
I have the 481 and I'm happy with it. It's connected to Q Acoustics 2020 fronts, 2000Ci centre and a BK Gemini 2 subwoofer and it's more than capable. For the price it's a steal, especially with all the extra features such as Bluetooth etc.:)
 
Only way to find out if the 681 is better is get a demo. You could get glowing reviews of it here & elsewhere only to buy it & it would sound harsh & awful to yourself, due to it being tonally mismatched to your speakers.

I would like a Yamaha myself, having never owned one but when I bought my speaker setup I was told (by the distributor at a hifi show many years ago) that a Yamaha or Sony AV Receiver would not best be suited to them & I would be better off buying a Pioneer or Denon.

Can someone tell me a summary of the 781 benefits over my 763?
