Hey folks

So I've had my 600 Srad for 3 years now and still love it to bits. I've put a lot of time and money into it to get it how I want and for an old bike she still keeps up with the new guys, However it's now time for a change and to get something a bit newer.

I've pretty much settled on an R6, looking at 07/08 model.
It would be used for weekend blats and the occasional track day, no commuting.

Just wondering if any one here has one and what you think of it, also if there's any thing mechanical or otherwise to watch out for when buying second hand?

A lot of my friends have asked why I don't want to progress to a 1000 and to be honest I'm not to fussed by them, I've ridden a few sports 1000 and while there great I much prefer the rag its **** off style of the 600's.
I did take a daytona for a test ride recently which I loved but I much prefer the look of the R6.
Also took out a new speed and streetR triple back to back yesterday and much preferred the street, however naked bikes aren't for me at the moment, the wind blast was just to much.

I Was considering going for a new gixer as I like them a lot too but just fancy a change.

I Did love the 675 when I was riding it but it just doesn't grab me as much as the R6.
If i'm going to be spending a fair amount of money I want something I enjoy looking at as much as riding.

I've read every where that they need to be worked to get the best out of them which im happy with as I like that.
I've also read that the mid range was improved in the 08 model so maybe that would be the best choice but it might stretch my budget a bit.

cbr600rr?

Don't you swear at me! :D

lol, thanks for the suggestion, I've ridden one a few times and its just classic Honda, Reliable and efficient in every way but soulless and no character. Not a huge fan of the styling either.

I think any thing is going to be a huge improvement over my srad and I'm hoping to do as many track days as possible next year with a trip to the nurburgring and also hoping to make the annual trip to the south of France, though guaranteed i'm going to ache like a gooden if I do get the R6.

Lol I know what you mean.

nah I appreciated the suggestion I think i've just got a thing about Honda's :)

A newer gixer was my initial thought, I've been more than happy with my Srad and the 750 would be the natural progression, But I still think i'd rather have an R6.

Basically there are 3 bike's on my list which I keep mulling over and at the moment the R6 is on top unless I convince myself or someone else convinces me otherwise.
