I have just refurbished our spare room and put a blu-rayer player in and connected it, through a Yamaha YSP 600 soundbar to a Hitach 32" LCD TV.
All works fine and I am very pleased with the quality of the soundbar (Mrs R didn't want lots of speakers in there.)
Now the manual says I can play the TV sound through the soundbar when watching regular TV using the supplied optical cable. So two questions:
1. Will the soundbar be able to 'improve' the sound coming from regular digital television at all?
2. The Hitachi doesn't have an optical out, just regular audio line outs. So if the answer to Q1 is yes, is there a way of getting the audio line out to the optical in on the sounbar?
Thanks in advance for any help.
