Looking for a 27" and seen some great rreviews on this monitor on the net, does anyone here own one of these monitors that can do 120hz after overclocking?

Does anyone know where you can get the Yamakasi Cat Leap Q270 B2 that overclock to 120hz+
27" IPS panel 2560x1440 @120hz sounds good to me its just finding somewhere that has this revision?

you're looking for a 2B or extreme edition, but good luck finding either. the ones you buy on the bay now will not OC.

its still a great monitor though. im considering getting a second one.

Yeah i'm after the extreme edition or b2, but like you say finding one is not easy.

Seems strange that they have a product that they could charge a premium for but now dont sell it?

I got one of the last Pixel Perfect 2B's in May.
It's been sat in it's box with the all the plastic still on it ever since, after some testing for overclockability.
120hz wasn't guaranteed (with the exception that a handful people got extremely lucky), the vast majority couldn't make it over 110hz without problems.
Mine went to 100hz with ease,I didn't try over 100hz as tbh I didn't want to break something brand new.
I've tried in vain to source another pair for a 3 screen set up.
Rocking horse **** is easier to find lol.

Duty/import charges seem to be hit and miss from what I've read. Some pay, some don't...
Any input on that side of things from owners?

Greensum marked mine at $130 value which in theory should have been under the import duty, I still got slapped for £27 duty.
Still, for £300 for a Pixel Perfect 2B screen is worth every last penny.

I've got 3 Achieva Shimians and they're great. They're "only 60hz" but still great quality 27" 2560x1440 monitors for a silly low price. I got 3 for just a bit more than the cost of one of Dell's 27" screens.

Don't the cat leaps have rather average at best input latency? one of the reasons for going for a 120Hz TN over an IPS is that they typically are gaming orientated panels and have low low input latency compared to IPS or 60Hz TNs which for fast paced gaming is an acceptable compromise over image quality. That and the fast pixel response which means the image stabalises faster than any IPS or 60Hz TN after quick scene changes - the 120Hz itself in some ways is almost bonus.

Wouldn't get too beat up about it doing 120Hz either (tho it is nice to have) for most people anything over ~80-85Hz is massive reduced returns compared to the difference from 60 to ~80-85Hz - the only downside (not sure if its relevant to these panels) is that quite a lot of panels don't work properly if they are running either multiples of 60Hz or a figure that can be divided by 20 resulting in backlight flicker.

$130 is WAY over the import duty, you import allowance for Gifts is £15.

Mine hasn't skipped a beat since I set it up, not overclocked it at all its one of the original 2B's so some might see this as some form of heresy :p Cracking screen no dead pixels, no backlight issues and amazing clarity.

I also read 110Hz was a very common OC ceiling.

The ones with only DVI/no scalars are amongst the best on the market for input latency in the case of the Acheiva Shimians. I think it's the same case for the Catleaps.

£27 is still too high for VAT, it should have been $26 rather than £27.

I was lucky, I avoided any VAT on mine and I got 3 at once. :p

ye get off lightly. here in Ireland people have been stung for £80. I got off free but I was one of the early adopters (just missing the 2B :() so customs didn't know what to charge.

Yeah, I got mine a few months ago now, not long after the Catleap 2B rush, but I was never interested in the Catleaps because I don't like how they look.

The reviews put them in the region of 28ms which isn't great.

On the true value it should have been more that £27.

Anyone asking for less than the true value to be declared has, strictly speaking, committed a criminal offence (tax evasion).

You don't buy one of these for competitive twitch fps.
The beauty is the image quality, glossy IPS screens are a thing of wonder to game on.

That's the big attraction of these screens.
For the price, what you get is truly amazing.

Again? I've, *ahem* never done it and definitely not more than once.

Thinking about it, the £27 could include some dirty "handling fee" that some couriers likes to charge (I've got off paying anything to couriers at all based on contesting that fee).

If it doesn't include a handing fee, then £27 is about what it should be because these screens are about £140 retail in Korea.

are these the same as the Hazro HZ27WC?
