Hi anyone know if the yamasaki 125 's are any good , was perusing the Web for a cheap learner and there are 2012 models for £700 . in crates so need building.

You could get a suzuki Van Van nice and clean for £1000 learn on it then sell it for £1000

That chinese yama****ty will be worth noting when you want a bigger bike...

Not heard of them personally bike it's like anything if you look after it it'll be fine. Don't expect to leave it sat in the rain without changing the oil or doing chain maintenance and there not to be problems for example!

Better to get a bike that won't drop it's value like an anvil, as you might save a bit to start with but you'll lose far more later. I spotted one at the MAG rally and it wasn't even half a year old but it was already a rust pile.

Not all Chinese builds are bad but the quality stuff you won't get for peanuts. So I'm with Easyrider, if you get a well respected bike you'll get less loss and an easier sell when you move on.

I'd be inclined to agree, just get a cheap Kwaka, Honda etc for £700, learn, pass and sell for what you paid... these things just aren't worth the hassle (although I'll be honest, never had personal use so, that is a generalization), however, you get what you pay for. I bought my son's CBR125 56 plate for £1300 May 2011 with 900 miles on the clock and A1 mint, not a mark on it in black ... shop around mate... don't' buy one of these, it's a new bike yeah, but like said, it'll be worth £300 by the time you come to sell..

Ended up with a 2007 varadero , bit more than I wanted to spend (1000 more) , didn't know you could get 125'a that where this big. Being 6'5 it's perfect for me.

I just picked up a Varadero also :D

Low mileage 08 example, as with you - more than I wanted to spend but it's somewhat unique in it's class and plenty big enough for us larger blokes. Was happy to spend the extra for what the bike represented.
