My xbox has just red ringed a few minutes ago.

When i bought it from purple i took out a 3 years warranty which covers virtually everything for £30 odd quid.

The insurance document says it covers the most economical and easiest option, so surely that covers replacing the console there and then? Thats what the sales assistant told me at the time of purchase.

Now what i want to know is will purple replace my console there and then with a brand new one?(mine is a 20gb pro, one with hdmi and one of the new batches at the time).

And what about my Hard drive? will i get to keep it and if so how will i tranfer all my data onto the new drive(60gb hopefully XD) Could someone possibly lend me one of those cables?

And will they hand over a brand new 60gb pro just like that after showing them the insurance documents?

:)

hey ya

i work part time at purple while im at uni.

all u need to show is ur reciept showing u got the care or the insureance docs u got through the post.

all u need to bring to them is the console generally and they will just swap it over for a new one, and u go on your way home, put your hdd back in and carry on playing :)

So i could bring in just the console and keep my current 20gb hard drive along with the new one id get with the 60gb replacement?

Gonna pop into my local one tomorrow night hopefully. :)

nah they'll give you the console without the hdd, as you're keeping yours.

i got a 120 gb one for mine. albeit with a small payment and a **** up from the kid in the shop.

you could always tell them the hdd is buggered too intermittently.

true true, u could try and blag that.

unless u got stuff u wanna keep on your 20gb.

reason why they keep the hdd, is because game then send the broken console back to microsoft to get fixed afaik, to loose as little money as possible.
