Hi Guys

I've managed to hang on since just before Ryzen was released but now is the time..

I dont upgrade often. Only recently upgraded my 8800GTX to a 1070 which I may sell and go for 1080ti as I should be able to sell for at the very least what I paid for my 1070.

So coming from a i7 920 what would be a safe bet.

No budget per say. I'm not going to spend £5k but if it needs to be £2500 then so be it.
You can leave the case. I'm not decided whether I should be daft and the Enthoo Primo Elite. Or just a Primo and put the difference to more Ram or the 1080ti

I game a 4k@60hz on my Hisense Tv. Or oculus rift (Elite dangerous)
I also photoshop and run some routing software (logistics) for work.

My thoughts were
My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £2,531.06
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Possibly a new PSU as mine is a few years old currently a Corsair HX850.

The GPU can change I just like the thought of AIO

And I'll want an AIO for the CPU any suggestions

I wont be overclocking.

So how much of the above is overkill?

@mattyg cant flaw how pretty that build would be- specially when i did one based around the Silent Loop, ROG and 8 Pack ram for a friends rendering station

If you want the same performance but saving a lot of cash...

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £2,331.47
(includes shipping: £12.60)

kept the same Storage about and NVMe+ SDD as you but cheaper, still kept the ram high spec- could have gone Team Group Vulcan 3000hz 16GB for £15- and will perform the same in gaming ( rendering there is a difference in speed)
case kept to a high quality! again could have saved cash here but you'll be looking at the thing daily - 280 AIO and some pretty Phanteks RGB
more money would be saved going to Ryzen 1600- most games theres no difference between 1700 and 1600 at 3.9 Ghz overclock

If you like asus then Whack in the B350 Strix board- these two boards most common recommended , bar if you want to lay down the money like yourself - ROG Crosshair and ASRock Taichi :)

that £716.63 saving could land you a G-sync screen! if you havent got one

Total: £691.69
(includes shipping: £11.70)

I've done a fair bit of "compromise" or " Raining it in"

I started with this
My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £4,010.33
(includes shipping: £22.50)

I still want that Elite case though

Did you got for the elite case?

No.. It was a step to far. I just couldn't justify it to myself. It looks a stunning case but the Box it comes in adds £200 to the purchase price and you cant buy it with out it. If it was nearer £600 I may have been able to justify to myself. But its still a lot of money for a case.

Yep, I completely understand which is why I cancelled my pre-order. I also change my case a lot, just this weekend I’ll be moving out of my Phanteks Evolv ATX into a Corsair Crystal 570X White.

Looks like my fat fingers have managed to order x2 Be Quiet 360mm AIO's.

Dumb ass.

At least when I send one back I'll have credit to buy something else..
