An E6600 will have you sailing along. Especially if you choose the SMP client.

My guide on how to install the Linux version of the SMP client. If you love Windows too much don't worry - there is a section on how to run Linux INSIDE Windows. Even with the overheads you will get better PPD than with the WinSMP client.
