all my stuff has arrived and im going to start building in an hour or so, i have never built one before so i will probaly be asking loads of questions lol, anyone know of any good tutorials maybe? wish me luck
If they are 3 pin, then on the motherboard, or better yet, a fanbus.
If they are 4 pin (Same as your CD/DVD's most likely), then straight onto the PSU. They might come with 3-->4 pin adaptors judging from the link you gave.
okay i have managed to get the heatsink and fans on the mobo, although it was very difficult and i accidently used the wrong screws it takes up so much room as well, i really hope i have done everything right and it doenst break
okay im now trying to put in the hard drive, which bay so i put it in? the same as the dvd-rw? its a lot smaller than the dvd-rw sp how would i secure it?
Sorry - when you say the back plate do you mean were the area were the monitor plugs in? if yes it should be tight up against it as the bottom of the card goes between the motherboard and the back of the case.
If the card is not properly aligned it may not be installed correctly, there will be some movement which one it's screwed in will be ok.
Hope I've explained correctly, if not post some pics!
Make sure it is in the right back plate space not one up or down. Other than that take it out and put it in again as it should be level and quite secure.
dont be afraid to use some force too... Ive had some components require a bit of a shove to get in (or out again, molex's spring to mind, removed half the skin on my finger trying to get one out from a CD Drive)
okay i was finished and went to fire it up and i press the button on the psu and a green light comes on my mobo (asus p5k) but nothing happens, no fans, not even the gpu fan. just nothing.... any thoughts? im gutted
are you sure that everything is correctly plugged in, if so go check again especially the buttons and LEDs on *** front of the case and make sure they are correct.
okay its finally working, was because i had put the power button in the wrong thing, but i think i must have done somthing wrong, maybe with the heatsink or somin. because when i go to the bios it says that my cpu is running at 73C which seems way too high... is this thing somtimes wrong or have i screwed up again? its weird becuase when i put my hand in the case it feels really cold and the mobo is running at 25C so i dont understand it.
