gave it a wash, polished body and glass only to find it covered in dust and soot from 2 building sites down the road, then the condensation from overnight made it look even worse

it always happens mate, i hardly use my car at the moment, putting about 60 miles on it a week if that and it still looks worse than my gf's car by then end of the week and she commutes 60 miles a day! simply cause i live in a large town and have on street parking. Rain just leaves it black :(

two weeks ago i washed it in the freezing cold when i had some kinda flue cause some bird had crapped on it, 24hrs later it was covered again, two days later it was gritted while parked at the side of the road  totally covered in huge chunks of salt, looks like the generious layer of wax saved it and damage though!

The point of cleaning your car in the bigger picture isn't so that it's clean for x number of days. Its the fact that your keeping the clearcote and the paint in clean and free of any chemicals that can harm and deteriate the condition and quality of the paint.

In fact I'm day ( yes day ) 2 out of 3 of detaling my new vRS, and doing the whole process from start too finish, if I had five days I would use five days.

When I wash the car every 2-3 days, the car is in superb condition underneath, and the whole process makes cleaning and drying very easy.
