I want a widescreen 20" monitor for my PC (DVI) and X360(VGA). Because the 360 outputs at 1280*720 the image scaling ability and VGA performance of the monitor is important.

Any recommendations based on those specifications?

Cheers.

Edit: I would have bought the vx2025 but the scaling issues reported about it put me off.

it might be worth getting one with 1:1 pixel mapping in that case, with the Philips 200W6CS and NEC LCD20WGX2 both being very popular right now. The Dell 2007WFP is also due soon as is bound to be popular

Definitely don't want a 1:1 mapping because a 1280*720 PC monitor would be terrible and on the other end of the scale I don't want a lot of my monitor wasted by having stonking black borders.

i thought you meant you wanted the X box res to be displayed as a 1280 x 720 image? Perhaps i got the wrong end of the stick?

Ah, I wanted the monitor to be able to upscale the image well. I heard a few reports that the upscaling on the viewsonic was poor. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

nec does a lovely job of upscaling 1280 x 1024

to say its supposed to look stretched and horrible, it looks rather nice !

thoroughly recommend the NEC 20WGX2

what makes the NEC worth the premium over the viewsonic and dell (with its extra inputs) equivelants? Can anyone com eup with a comparison to help me understand how glossy the screen is and the implications of that?

Edit:

This puts me off a lot:

no one have this screen and wants to comment on its reflectivity?

Edit: Is the difference between the viewsonic and the NEC contrast ratios noticeable?
