Or just simply say Yes ?

I'm old, but the basics still remain the same - if you agree with something the answer used to be a simple single YES or OK.

Question : Do you think if i tread on a nail will it hurt ? Other person: Yes

The answer would never be Yeh,Yeh,Yeh.

What prompted this post was a guy i overheard today who went to 5 YEHs ?

5 YEHs, i kid you not

Why?

I hear this everywhere.

Are YEHs just some feeble attempt to look ' interested and engaged ' in a conversation when you are unable to add something / or do not know how to respond ?

And why the amounts and where do you stop ?

Cheers,Cheers,Cheers,Cheers,Cheers, Brizzles

Someone on the wireless near me ends pretty much every sentence with ", yeah".

If I hear him on, I generally tune away, it's really annoying.

how privileged are you OP?

because in my experience "yeah or yea" is pretty common.

are you used to hearing "yaaa" like some posh dood?

up here "are you all right?" is "yallreetman?"" aye man champion

Singular is fine, but why YEH 3 or 5 times in a row ?

Example : Are you still working with Dave ?

Response : Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
doesnt multiple yeh mean the same thing as "yes I know this already" basically?

you know you should have unplugged it first before you got an electric shock?
yeh yeh yeh yeh yeh
