I'm planning on ordering the following at some point to replace my "sold" Q9650. If there's any glaring errors/alternatives I should look at please let me know.

Intel Core i7 920 - 2.66Ghz CPU

That's the main stuff. Also getting a Akasa extension lead for the 8 pin (PSU at bottom of my full tower case) and some thermal paste.

I'm hoping to overclock it to at least 3.2Ghz, but will try getting higher. It will replace the dual core cpu, motherboard and memory in my specs. Paired with a GTX280 I'm hoping it will fly again.

I got an i5 motherboard on offer so I was gonna upgrade to that. Changed my mind however that I wanted an i7 so am planning to get that instead and sell off the i5 mobo (still unused).
