Yes another major BF2 problem

ok my preblem isnt from game play cos i havent got that far yet lol... ok when i install BF it runs fine as soon as i patch it either 1.1- 1.12- 1.2- 1.22 all that happens is when i start the game windows error message just comes up everytime... error seems to be with one of the BF2 Mod patches any ideas or anyone had this to?? thanks

Try running the shortcut in 98 compatability mode; if not might be a case of uninstalling and cleaning all traces from the registry before attempting again.

Go back to stock on the CPU and RAM before running the updates. They are incredibly sensitive to memory errors those patching files.

And patch in this order.

BF2 Vanilla
BF2 SF if you have it.
BF2 1.2 (full if no BF2 SF and incremental if you do have BF2 SF)
BF2 1.2.2

Vanilla = plain = unpatched

Install:

BF2
Special Forces/Euro Forces (if u have them)
FULL 1.22 patch

And that will work fine. The latest FULL patch is all you need, u dont need any of the others.

i have done that and it dont work fine... minus the SF part dont have it

No mate vanilla is just BF2 no mods or packs but patched and up to date.

Ok, let me re-phrase. It does work fine if your PC for 99.9999% of people. Theres obviously an issue with your PC sumwhere down the line.
